Bouctouche Memorial Gardens
New Brunswick, Canada
A memorial chapel and gardens set in Eastern Canada.
Completed in 2005, the Irving Memorial Chapel is a new, private chapel in the north of New Brunswick. It is set within extensive gardens, which were designed by Peter Richards, whilst a partner at his previous practice. The gardens comprise a number of terraces and courtyards that are defined by a series of dry stone walls, both free standing and retaining. Peter worked with a team of highly skilled, British wallers who spent the summer in New Brunswick building over 1km of dry stone walls around the gardens. The gardens, which are open to the public, have proved to be a popular tourist attraction.
