London Road Retail Park

This new retail development is located on a brownfield site on the outskirts of Biggleswade and forms an important introduction to the town.

The London Road frontage has been planted with a variety of semi-mature trees, some in small groups of one species and some as single specimens. This departure from the typical single species avenue has been developed after close consultation with the LPA’s tree officer. In order to ensure the successful establishment and long term viability of the scheme a detailed landscape management plan was submitted as part of the application, this not only outlined the general maintenance regime, but also a long term thinning strategy, which will help to allow the trees to mature to their full potential and provide an attractive and high quality entrance to the town over the years to come.
