This prominent corner site is located on the Eclipse Retail Park adjacent to Junction 7 of the M20 immediately to the north of Maidstone.

In consultation with the client and the local planning authority, some care was taken to screen out low-level ‘car park views’ from the busy adjacent roads. This was achieved through the retention and introduction of hedgerows around the site and the use of 2.4m tall ‘Hedera Screens’ around the unsightly storage and service yard sides of the store. Working in tandem with the project drainage engineers the tree planting within the paved areas was achieved in conjunction with subterranean SuDS storage and tree sand trenches.
