Cribbs Site 20

The introduction of a sports focused extension to an existing retail and leisure park.

The Cribbs Causeway Retail Park is one of the UK’s largest and most successful regional shopping centres and includes over 140 leading shops, cafes and restaurants and a cinema complex. The Cribbs Site 20 project includes a sports focused expansion to the facilities including indoor skydiving, a Skiplex centre and a range of additional sports retail stores.

A focus of the landscape scheme was to create a green infrastructure and pedestrian movement link between the shopping centre and the proposed housing on the redeveloped Filton Airfield site. The design integrated the collection and use of all surface water in order that the water can be used as a permanent pond habitat for existing fauna. The scheme also incorporated a series of inter-linked swales and depressions to provide an attractive and functional area of open space which can also be used as an educational resource.
