Greenwich Retail Park

A large shopping development located on a brownfield site in South London.

This prominent site spans an area of land between two busy roads in Greenwich and provides pedestrian access between them. The shops are located along its western boundary with a large car park occupying the eastern half of the site.

To provide an effective boundary treatment, bespoke ivy screens were installed around the perimeter to provide an instant green screen. The service yard was screened by a green wall, with panels of both ivy and herbaceous plants, separated by formal bands of gabion walls, designed to reflect the pattern of a barcode. Formal bands of planting reflect the straight lines of the gabions and green wall, forming a striking introduction to the development. A small pocket park is located on the site’s southern area providing an attractive seating area alongside M&S, Costa Coffee and the busy adjacent Woolwich Road. The shopping and retail park opened in the summer of 2015.
